The 2013 Santa Cruz Surf Kayak Festival (http://www.asudoit.com/paddle_fest/index.html) and Surftech Shootout at The Lane (http://shootout.surftech.com) will be kicking off tonight with a whole slew of paddleholders at Adventure Sports Unlimited in Downtown Santa Cruz. A bit different this year for me as I have not only entered waveski as per usual, but sponsored the event as well as entered the Shootout in the Cowells Classic division. This will be my first entry in a SUP event (of any kind), and my second week on a sup…
I will admit, I was a holdout for looong while, being hounded from all directions at contests- “when will you build a sup?!”. Well the time has come! I finished my first SUP last monday and have had 7 days in a row on it. And boy, is it a lot more fun than I had thought! This is just the beginning, I’m already wanting to go pick up some more sup blanks!
After inquiring with the 2012 Ventura Sup Champ Lionel Angibaud (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G557uhbJEos), I ended up with a full outlined 8’4.5″ x 29 1/4″ x 4″ super squash tail. I am in love… this thing is so much fun! Here’s a few pics from day 7 of SUPing! See you at The Lane!
